When should you choose a rectangular-shaped geotextile?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The rectangular-shaped geotextile is recommended specifically for building ponds with simple shapes. It can be an ideal choice for contractors, as it can be manufactured in one piece up to 5000 m\u00b2, but it\u2019s also a suitable option for those building their own garden pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designing a rectangular geotextile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the production of a rectangular-shaped geotextile, foil strips are cut to size and welded together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The width of each foil strip is always 5.3 meters (the liner size increases in steps of this width). So one dimension of the liner depends on how many foil strips are welded together. For example, if 7 foil strips are needed, the final liner width will be 7 \u00d7 5.3 m = 37.1 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The length of the foil strips depends on the size of the pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first step in designing a rectangular geotextile is the on-site survey, where you need to determine the exact length of foil strips required based on the size of your pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must record the data measured during the survey and enter it into the rectangular liner planner calculator, which will generate the calculation for your order based on your measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The surveying process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The survey is very simple and consists of only two steps!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, measure the width of the pond. Take measurements at multiple points to ensure the measurement connects the two furthest edges and also passes through the deepest part of the pond.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Then measure its length as well. Measure in several places so you can record the greatest possible length.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The measurement should follow the full topography of the basin, so the tape measure must be laid along the line that passes through both the deepest and highest points of the basin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both ends of the measuring tape should extend beyond the pond basin, not just from one edge of the pond to the other. The amount of overhang will match the extra length needed for securing. So let both ends of the tape hang out evenly, according to the amount of securing allowance you plan for. Count on at least 50 cm of extra length, but depending on the securing method and soil type, it may need to be more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the longest measurements and use those in the planner. This is important to ensure that every part of the basin will be covered with enough geotextile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
